August Team Player Highlight
Storey takes pride in each and every driver that represents the company. Our drivers are the lifeblood of Storey and out in the field for the day-to-day operations; hence why recruitment is such an integral part of our success. We do not want to hire just anybody with a CDL license and we want to ensure it is just as much a fit for them as it is for Storey.
During the recruiting process, we have seen an increase in requests from new hire candidates to speak directly with existing Storey drivers to gain their feedback and perspective. Storey connects these new hires with drivers that have been with the company for less than one year to discuss driver onboarding and what can be expected within the first year of hire.
With that being said, we are pleased to spotlight Tonya and Jerry Hunter for the Team Player of the month. Being a fairly new addition to the Storey family, joining in 2020, the Hunter’s have gone above and beyond in being a resource and mentor to new drivers. Their willingness to speak with new driver candidates is not required and they always make themselves available to help in any way that they can.
Through their own personal journey, they have recognized that not only is pay/mileage important but the overall culture and transparency is just as important when selecting a company and why they chose Storey. They are always more than willing to take the time to speak with new recruits and share their experience; which further assists in acquiring new and talented drivers.
As one of Storey’s top mileage leaders, the Hunter’s are dependable, flexible and readily available to help the team in any situation. On several occasions, they have assisted our local California drivers by checking into shippers to avoid missing scheduled appointment times. They stayed with the load until our local drivers were available. They are a true definition of “Team Player” and because of this, they are one of Storey’s most successful teams.
The Hunter’s recognize that we all play an important role in the overall success of the company and we appreciate their willingness to assist with this growth at Storey.
