Some may view being a truck driver as an autonomous job. Yes, driving a truck may only require one person’s ability, but it is every other step in the loading and delivery process that makes up the team required to get the job done.

A key role played in the journey of a load is that of the local driver. Our local drivers in both the Southeast and West Coast control a huge part in the success of a delivery. These drivers are key players in satisfying customers for both pick ups and final deliveries, as well as keeping our Over The Road drivers turning. Storey averages 50-60 loads each week that local drivers are tasked to manage regardless of prior scheduling issues or delays. They deserve recognition for always doing what is needed in order to get the job done. This month we are spotlighting local driver, Derrick Anderson as our Team Player.

Derrick joined Storey in December and has since done an incredible job. He has been quick to learn new processes and accepts any challenge thrown his way. Dispatch enjoys communicating with Derrick daily and appreciates his eagerness to help. He comes to work with a positive attitude and strong work ethic every day and never hesitates when assigned a job.

Being the first or last link on the chain can oftentimes come with a lot of pressure, but Derrick Anderson, along with all of our local drivers, are able to overcome the stress and complete deliveries, allowing the entire Storey team to succeed.
